More scrappy trip quilts

I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing scrappy trip quilts (either sewing on one or quilting one for a customer).  Each one is unique in its own way.  I just finished quilting two of them for customers this week.

Kathy wanted hers quilted with straight lines both vertically and horizontally.
Mission accomplished!

The piano key border Kathy added to her quilt is adorable.

She used the small leaf yardage by Adorn It for her back.
The lines looked really neat and added texture.

Louise let me have free reign to the quilting on hers so I chose
an orange peel design.  Love it!
\

It amazes me what quilting can add to these quilts.  Louise also used a backing
fabric the Chamberry line by Adorn It.

As a reminder, if you have not made one of these yet and would like to do so,
we have lots and lots of fabric strips already cut and ready to sew together.
The cost is $2.00 per set and a finished block is 12".  Come by the shop and we will be happy to show you this technique!

On another note -- are you Idaho readers loving the snow??  It's coat and glove season now, but I would prefer to stay inside wrapped in a quilt.

Pre Holiday Sale

Happy November 1st!  We can't believe this year is almost over.  Now that cooler temperatures are here and the holidays are upon us we are having a special Pre Holiday Sale.

From November 1st to November 30th all precuts, patterns, kits, fabric, thread, scrap bags, etc. are on sale for 15% off.  This is a great discount off our already low prices.  The only items excluded in our sale are premade quilts and runners.  Stop on by or order online at olieandevie.com.

We have new quilts made up to kit ... here is a sneak peek in case you are interested.  The photos do not do these quilts justice -- Olie is the photographer not I!

Fabric:  Honeysweet by Fig Tree
Pattern:  Just in Nine

Fabric:  Chamberry by Adorn It
Pattern:  Just Let It Be

This quilt is not quite finished, but I had to share a picture.  I love how easy this has come together but looks so complicated.  I just need to sew the blocks together and add the border!

Fabric:  Midwinter Reds by Minick & Simpson
Pattern:  Book - Simply Retro

Come see the quilts in person if you can.  If not, there will be pictures posted on our website soon with sizes and pricing for the kits as well.

Hope to see you soon!
